Questions of corporate governance are becoming more and more important. The same applies to the financing of corporations via organized capital markets (Corporate Finance/Capital Markets Law). These fields of law have been highly influenced by the international business practice and findings of economics. The global nature of financial markets is reflected in a high degree of international harmonization of law. The development of the law by legislatures and courts is highly depending on findings of comparative law.

The Institute for Corporate and Capital Markets Law shall stimulate the national and international discussion in the areas of corporate and capital markets law. It focuses on the following areas:

References to European law, the relevance of self-regulation and aspects of capital markets supervision are being considered.
